Coach Biography

Michelle Taylor

When Michelle first moved to Invermere in 2004 she dreamed of doing something that would bring people together to improve their fitness and running goals while enjoying the incredible beauty of the outdoors. 


2007 triathlon clinics were added to the programs offered by CVLS.


2008 marks the fourth year of coaching running clinics for Michelle and she has introduced Nordic Pole Walking Group sesssions to the Columbia Valley.

“I hope to keep exploring new ways for my participants to be active in the great outdoors and to achieve their goals.”

Michelle brings a great deal of experience and passion to the clinics through many past experiences both personal and professional including:

Bachelor’s Degree, Honors Physical Education

Minor Recreation Administration

Nordic Pole Walking Instructor Certification

NCCP Coaching Certification

Non-Playing Jr. Golf Team Captain at National and International competitions

Personal Fitness Trainer for 6 years

Competed in du-athlons, triathlons, and 10km to marathon distance road races

STFA, OLFP, AFLCA past Fitness Certifications

Developed sport and recreation camps for youth (Edmonton Parks and Recreation) for 6 years

Running Clinic Coach 2005-2008

Competed University Varsity Tennis for 3 yrs

Triathlon Coach 2007-2008

Movement Education Instructor for youth (2008)

Fitness Coach & Planner for Alberta Provincial Ladies, Junior Boys and Girls Golf Teams for 7 years

Reporter for the Upper Columbia Valley Pioneer (2004-2005)

Wife and Mother of 3, which has really taught me more about life than I could imagine!
